LeBron the Next Warren Buffett
*Billionaire Warren Buffett is currently worth $64 billion. His protege is following in his footsteps. And that protege is no other than LeBron James. Buffett is obviously quite the businessman — making his fortune buying companies that found much success years after he took stakes in them. Buffett was worth hundreds of millions in his 20s. James is currently 29 years old, and he’s worth hundreds of millions. Hint hint. The two have hit it off. James and Buffett have been seen hanging out together on multiple occasions. They’ve dined together in Las Vegas and golfed together in Sun Valley as well. Buffett really has taken James under his wing. Reportedly, James sends Buffett his financial statements. “I’m a kid from Akron who lived in poverty for a long time, and I sometimes send financial statements to one of the richest guys ever. It’s kind of scary. I’m like, ‘Why is he talking to me?’” But the love is not one-sided. Buffett doesn’t mind advising James and even praised him. He said he is “remarkably mature,” being “plenty smart about financial matters,” and saying “I was impressed with him right from the moment I met him.” He continued with, “LeBron’s not really talkative, he’s savvy,” continuing with, “he talked smarter about business deals than plenty of MBAs I’ve met … when I talked with him first, he was 21 then… He knew a lot more than I did when I was 21.” Magic Johnson aside, could James be basketball’s first billionaire? Well, he definitely has one of the world’s wealthiest men on his side. “In the next 15 or 20 years, I hope I’ll be the richest man in the world.” LeBron continued with, “That’s one of my goals. I want to be a billionaire.” Read more at http:/www.eurweb.com/2014/09/could-lebron-james-be-the-next-billionaire-warren-buffett/#W6XqGOuJHBtzxfVz.99

CNN to Rehire 100 Workers
The National Labor Relations Board has ordered CNN to rehire 100 workers and compensate 200 others for a labor dispute that originated in 2003. The 11-year dispute stems from CNN’s decision to replace a unionized subcontractor called Team Video Services, which provided the network with audio and video technicians, with an in-house nonunion work force in its Washington and New York bureaus. The decision comes weeks after CNN’s top boss Jeff Zucker hinted at additional job cuts at the Turner-owned news channel, which employs over 2,000 people. “We are going to have to do what we do with less,” he said in a memo to CNN employees. “As a result, that means there will be changes. No final decisions have been made.” It’s unclear how the NLRB’s ruling will impact the expected restructuring at the news operation. The Labor Board found “overwhelming” evidence of anti-union animus in CNN’s failure to bargain with the union about the decision to terminate the subcontracts. The org also found CNN had implemented a hiring plan designed to limit the number of discharged TVS employees to avoid a successorship bargaining obligation. A CNN spokesperson said, “CNN disagrees with the NLRB decision and we are evaluating our options.” The Communication Workers of America said that CNN’s 2003 decision had amounted to a “phony reorganization scheme to get rid of unionized workers.” The union also said the compensation for the 200 employees, who continued to work at the company without the benefits of a union contract, would be “on the order of tens of millions of dollars.” The union also said CNN is required to restore any bargaining unit work that was outsourced since the end of the contracts. The company also must recognize the employees’ union and resume bargaining with NABET-CWA Local 11 and NABET-CWA Local 31. “These workers have waited far too long for this measure of justice to finally be delivered and have suffered far too much as the result of these unlawful activities,” said NABET-CWA president Jim Joyce. “CNN should finally do the right thing now and immediately comply with the orders of the National Labor Relations Board issued today.” The union noted that it had immediately filed unfair labor practice charges with the NLRB after CNN terminated the subcontracts. The case did not go to trial before an Administrative Law Judge at the NLRB for almost five years. After 72 days of trial, the ALJ ruled in 2008 against CNN and found the network had engaged in “widespread and egregious misconduct” and had demonstrated “a flagrant and general disregard for the employees’ fundamental rights.” The ruling was appealed, leading to several more legal actions by the union. The NLRB, an independent agency of the United States government, has two key functions — conducting elections for labor union representation; and investigating allegations of unfair labor practices.
Peterson's New Allegations
UPDATE: Adrian Peterson's lawyer Rusty Hardin released the following statement: "The allegation of another investigation into Adrian Peterson is simply not true. This is not a new allegation, it's one that is unsubstantiated and was shopped around to authorities in two states over a year ago and nothing came of it. An adult witness adamantly insists Adrian did nothing inappropriate with his son. There is no ongoing or new investigation." HOUSTON -- New accusations against Adrian Peterson come from another mother who has another four-year-old son of Peterson, and also involve Peterson striking his boy as a form of discipline. Peterson's attorney Rusty Hardin responded with the following statement: The allegation of another investigation into Adrian Peterson is simply not true. This is not a new allegation, it's one that is unsubstantiated and was shopped around to authorities in two states over a year ago and nothing came of it. An adult witness adamantly insists Adrian did nothing inappropriate with his son. There is no ongoing or new investigation. Earlier Monday, a top law enforcement official confirmed knowledge of the allegations by the mother of Peterson's son back in June 2013. Photos, which the KHOU I-Team obtained from a source, show a head wound to a boy identified as Peterson's four year old son. It is a wound that weeks later, left a scar above his right eye. Sources claim it allegedly happened while the boy, who lives out of state, was visiting Peterson at his gated home in The Woodlands. The source provided a string of text messages allegedly exchanged between the Peterson and the boy's mother. They contain numerous grammatical errors: Mother : "What happened to his head? Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat". Mother "How does this happen, he got a whoopin in the car" Peterson: "Yep" Mother: "Why?' Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self." The text messages go on to show Peterson saying he was disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling. Also in the text messages, the mother asks "What did you hit him with?" Peterson never answers directly but writes "be still n (and) take ya (your) whopping, he would have saved the scare (scar). "He's aight (all right)." The exchange continued: Mother: "I'm real sensitive about my baby and him being hit." Peterson: "You tripping if you want him, come get him. I'm not about to be getting questioned down like you (you're) CPS." Sources confirm to the I-Team that the mother did file a report with Child Protective Services, but CPS declined to discuss the its investigation. Peterson's attorney Rusty Hardin said the woman is shopping around false allegations. Meantime, the website TMZ quotes sources close to the investigation, saying the CPS case went nowhere because the injuries were accidental and that the boy struck his head on a car seat.
