It's that time of year once again. Following last month's event that brought us the iPhone 6, Apple has come back today to reveal the next generation of its iPad line. The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are here, with a redesigned case and a slate of new features. Apple has made the iPad Air 2 lighter and more powerful, shrinking the tablet under 1 pound, while adding a more robust processor, all packed into the world's thinnest tablet body at 6.1mm thick. The iPad Air 2 comes with Apple's new A8X processor, a more powerful and efficient chip that will make apps and app switching work even better. CPU performance in the iPad Air 2 is 40 percent better than last year's edition. The iPad mini 3 is stuck with last year's A7 chip, as Apple decided not to improve the processor or graphics. Apple has also included faster Wi-Fi and LTE, with 802.11ac and over 20 LTE bands pushing speeds up to 150mbps in the new iPads. The camera in the iPad Air 2 has also been improved, with Apple bringing its 8MP iSight camera seen in the iPhone to the tablet. The iPad mini 3 has the same 5MP iSight camera as the iPad mini 2. You can now take panorama photos, slow motion videos, and use time lapse and burst mode with both iPads. Apple has also included a new FaceTime camera that lets in 81 percent more light for better selfies. (If you're willing to take a selfie with an iPad, that is.) Touch ID has finally made its way to the iPad line, with both the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 getting the fingerprint treatment. Unlocking your iPad, and securing apps on the device, will be significantly easier. Touch ID is also the driving force behind Apple Pay, which makes its way to both of the iPads. Though the new iPads don't have the NFC chip that allows the iPhone 6 to use Apple Pay in stores, the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will let you use Apple Pay to order items online and in apps. The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be available in 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB configurations. You can pre-order the devices tomorrow, with the iPad mini 3 starting at $399, and the iPad Air 2 starts at $499. The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will ship by the end of next week.

Amber Vinson, the second person to be infected with Ebola after caring for patient Thomas Eric Duncan, may actually have had symptoms as early as last Friday, health officials said. Vison, a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where Duncan was being treated and later died, flew to Cleveland on Friday to help plan her wedding. She returned to Dallas on Monday. She called health officials before her flight on Monday, reporting a minor fever. But the Center for Disease Control and Prevention told her it was okay to get on the plane. Because she may have been sick earlier than officials believed, the CDC is expanding their investigation to people the 29-year-old nurse may have come into contact with over the weekend. Included are passengers who were on her flight to Cleveland, Fox 8 Cleveland reported. Frontier has reached out to passengers on five flights that used the same airplane Vinson flew on, the Denver Post reported. Anyone who flew with her is encouraged to call 1-800-CDC INFO. A CDC spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday that it was possible that passengers on Vinson's Friday flight may have contracted the virus. Earlier this week, CDC Director Tom Frieden said that because Vinson's fever was low on Monday, it is unlikely that she was contagious. Still, he said it was mistake for her to fly. Seven people have placed themselves under self-quarantine in Northeast Ohio after coming into contact with Vinson during her trip to Ohio. According to Fox News 8, people who were at the Coming Attractions bridal shop in Akron on Oct. 11 from 12 to 3:30 p.m. have been asked to call the health department. Some schools in Texas and Ohio have also canceled classes because students or staff flew on the same airplane as Vinson. Vinson is the second person in the United States to be infected with Ebola on U.S. soil. She and fellow nurse Nina Pham were infected after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who was the first person to be diagnosed with the virus in U.S. Duncan died on October 8th.
