Samuel L. Jackson Challenges Celebs
Much like the "Ice Bucket Challenge," Samuel L. Jackson has called upon his fellow celebrity figures to join the current movement to raise awareness about the actions of "racist police" throughout the United States. Jackson posted a short video of himself issuing the challenge to his famous peers to sing the "We Ain't Gonna Stop 'Til People Are Free" song. In its lyrics, Jackson specifically calls out "violence of the racist police."

Plans for All-Female "Ghostbusters" Leaked
Minus those horrible comments about Barack Obama, the Sony leaks is the gift that keeps on giving. Whether its the idea of a Jump Street/Men In Black crossover, Channing Tatum’s child-like email, or say the plot for the female-led Ghostbusters film, which Ryan Gosling wants in on, btw. An email was leaked from Paul Feig, who will be directing, where he explains that the film will actually be a reboot where humans haven’t met ghosts yet so they’ve nothing to be afraid of. Humans are afraid of convicted murderers so the film’s villain will have one in the form of Peter Dinklage, who then becomes a ghost. It’s then that Dinklage summons other E.V.I.L. villains, possibly famous ones from history. The Ghostbusters squad will be four women who will, “figure out in funny, scary and action-packed ways how to save New York City and the world." Feig suggested the squad works for the U.S. government and has a rocky relationship with them, including Cecily Strong, who would play an official of some sort. If Sony doesn’t make this because of the leak we will riot.
Cosby’s Wife Believes He Is the Victim
Camille Cosby has issued a statement in support of her husband Bill in the wake of the myriad sexual assault allegations leveled at him, and it’s about as painful as you’d imagine. Tossing the word “victim” around and comparing coverage to the UVA rape case is probably not wise: B47WbvLIQAIC2AF.jpg-large   Wherever you land on the argument about Bill Cosby, every can probably agree that the timing of this statement is not great. Even Bill’s defense of himself was less pointed and opinionated, and calling someone accused by so many a “victim” is not going to compel anyone to his side.

Live From New York
Eminem is THE global rap superstar. This concert was filmed at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2005 at the culmination of his farewell tour prior to his retirement. It's a spectacular show with multi-level staging, amazing lighting and guest appearances from D12, Obie Trice and Stat Quo.
Lenny Cooke
Professional sports is known as a true meritocracy, a field in which the cream really does rise to the top, as there's simply too much money at stake to operate in any other fashion. In uncommon instances, however, inefficiencies can occur and gifted players may fall through the cracks. Such is the story of Lenny Cooke. In 2001, Cooke was the number-one ranked high school basketball player in America, with future NBA greats LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony listed beneath him. Yet after declaring himself eligible for the 2002 NBA draft, Cooke, shockingly, ended up going undrafted, and became a journeyman playing in little-known leagues across the world. Today he lives in southern Virginia, a should-have-been-great who simply did not quite make it. The first documentary feature from American independent film scene fixtures Josh & Benny Safdie (Daddy Longlegs, The Pleasure of Being Robbed), LENNY COOKE explores the fascinating question of how, exactly, Cooke's seemingly assured future could go so awry.
Florida Cop Pulls Over Harvard Grad
If you’re ever in Hialeah, Fla., beware of police officer Harold Garzon. He already has accumulated 16 internal affairs complaints, and over Thanksgiving likely added another one when he pulled over a Harvard graduate and current Florida International University law student for having the NWA’s “Fuck Tha Police” playing in his own car while he was stopped at a red light. The interaction between Officer Garzon and 26-year-old Cesar Baldelomar reads almost like a comedy sketch. Baldelomar was home for Thanksgiving break when Garzon pulled up next to him at the light, heard the song, and said “You're really playing that song? Pull over.”

61 titles leaving Netflix Jan. 1
When the poet Robert Frost wrote “Nothing gold can stay,” he wasn’t talking about the tragedy that happens at the end of each month as a handful of streaming television and movie titles disappear from Netflix. But never the less, no sentiment better captures our feelings of bittersweet sorrow as we say goodbye to timeless coming-of-age movies like The Breakfast Club or romantic comedies like You've Got Mail. So get started on making the most of your Christmas vacation by binge streaming all these titles before they make like the year 2014 and disappear on Jan. 1. But don’t cry too hard for their farewell, because starting New Year’s Day, the entirety of Friends will be there for you to console you in this time of loss.

Starbucks Plans Delivery Service
Attention java junkies: Starbucks wants to put you one step closer to your morning fix. The coffee retailer is planning to launch a food and beverage delivery service in select markets during the second half of next year, CEO Howard Schultz said on the company's earnings conference call Thursday. "Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot to your desk daily," Schultz said. "That's our version of e-commerce on steroids." The delivery service will be available to Starbucks loyalty program members as part of its new mobile order and pay app that will launch in Portland, Oregon, next month and nationwide next year. The move comes as Starbucks increasingly focuses on adapting to the shift in consumer behavior to shopping online more and in stores less. Earlier Thursday, Starbucks delivered earnings that matched estimates, but its revenue and global comparable sales fell short of Wall Street's forecast.

The Gambler
Jim Bennett (Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg) is a risk taker. Both an English professor and a high-stakes gambler, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Michael Kenneth Williams) and offers his own life as collateral. Always one step ahead, Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring (Alvin Ing) and leaves his dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother (Academy Award®-winner Jessica Lange) in his wake. He plays both sides, immersing himself in an illicit, underground world while garnering the attention of Frank (John Goodman), a loan shark with a paternal interest in Bennett’s future. As his relationship with a student (Brie Larson) deepens, Bennett must take the ultimate risk for a second chance…
