Zimmerman’s Pattern of Trouble Continues
George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murdering unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, leaving many Blacks across the world dismayed at the fairness of the judicial system, was arrested again last night. This time, Zimmerman was apprehended for aggravated assault in Lake Mary in south Florida for tossing a wine bottle at his girlfriend, according to Seminole County sheriffs. His bond was set at $5,000 this morning and he was ordered to not contact the unidentified woman.   Zimmerman’s arrest is just the latest in a series of trouble with the law he has encountered since a Florida jury judged him not guilty of the 2013 shooting and killing of Martin, 17. It also puts into question his emotional state and penchant for trouble before he followed Martin as he was returning from a local store to his father’s home.   He was portrayed during the trial as an unpaid neighborhood watchman whose interest was in protecting the community. But his actions since the acquittal could point to a man who seeks action and escalates a scenario in a fit of rage.   Since last June Zimmerman was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief after his then-girlfriend said he pointed a gun at her face during an argument. He also smashed her coffee table and pushed her out of the house they shared. Samantha Scheibe did not want to cooperate with officials and prosecutors did not pursue the case.   Three days after Shellie Zimmerman, his estranged wife, filed for divorce, he was accused of smashing an iPad during an argument. She initially told a police dispatcher that her husband had a gun, but then recanted that part of her story. Because of a lack of evidence, no charges were filed. Zimmerman also has been stopped by police three times for various moving violations. Additionally, there was what turned out to a hoax or staged accident scene where Zimmerman was to appear to have saved a family of four in a car accident.   In Friday night’s case, Judge John Galluzzo gave few details of the incident, but said a wine bottle was involved and that the alleged assault happened at Zimmerman’s home. The judge ordered Zimmerman to deliver any of his girlfriend’s personal items to his lawyer. And although this incident did not involve a gun, the judge ordered him to surrender any weapons. Zimmerman is scheduled to appear back in court on Feb. 17.
Anonymous says it will avenge Paris attacks
Hacker group Anonymous have released a video and a statement via Twitter condemning the attacks on Charlie Hebdo, in which 12 people, including eight journalists, were murdered. The video description says that it is "a message for al-Qaeda, the Islamic State and other terrorists", and was uploaded to the group's Beligian account.  In the clip, a figure wearing the group's symbolic Guy Fawkes mask is seated in front of a desk with the hashtag #OpCharlieHebdo - which stands for Operation Charlie Hebdo - featured on screen. The figure, whose voice is obscured says: "We are declaring war against you, the terrorists." They add that the group will track down and close all accounts on social networks related to terrorists in order to avenge those who have been killed. This is backed up with a statement entitled "a message to the enemies of freedom of expression" posted to Pastebin, the hacker collective offered their condolences to "the families of the victims of this cowardly and despicable act". They write "freedom of expression has suffered inhuman assault ... and it is our duty to react". Anonymous are a group comprised of activists and hackers who claim to defend and protect democracy. In the past the group have carried out cyber attacks on government, religious, and corporate websites by distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks which attempt to overwhelm an online service with traffic from numerous sources so that users can no longer access it.

Crowd Chants 'We Believe The Women'
HAMILTON, Ontario (AP) — Hecklers stood up and chanted repeatedly "we believe the women" at Bill Cosby's third and final performance of a Canadian tour Friday night. The hecklers then marched out of the theater as the 77-year-old comedian asked his audience not to react. Cosby is facing growing sexual assault allegations from more than 15 women, with some claims dating back decades. He has denied the allegations through his lawyer and has never been charged. The walk-out during Friday's show came a day after a man at Cosby's performance in London, Ontario, called the comedian "a rapist." It also took place just minutes after Cosby acknowledged the controversy that has followed him throughout his three-city Canadian tour. "Whatever happens here tonight if there's some sort of outburst, we just have to remain calm and things will be taken care of. It oughtn't last that long," he said. "I want to thank all of you here tonight because you stayed with what you believed in." An announcement at the start of the show warned the audience there might be attempts to disrupt the show and urged ticket holders to remain calm until the matter "is resolved." Security at the venue was tight — bags were searched and police officers and private security guards were posted along the aisles of the theatre. The three shows in Canada were Cosby's first since November when he had a string of performances canceled over the accusations.
52 people die after drinking poisoned beer
MAPUTO, Mozambique (AP) — Contaminated traditional beer has killed 52 people in Mozambique, health authorities in the southern African country said on Sunday.

An additional 51 people were admitted to hospitals in the Chitima and Songo districts in the northeastern Tete province, and 146 more people have reported to hospitals to be examined for the poisoning, district health official Alex Albertini told Radio Mozambique.

Those who drank the contaminated brew were attending a funeral in the region on Saturday, Albertini said.

Pombe, a traditional Mozambican beer, is made from millet or corn flour. Authorities believe that the drink was poisoned with crocodile bile during the course of the funeral.

Blood and traditional beer samples were being sent to the capital Maputo to be tested, said provincial health director Carle Mosse

"We don't have the capacity to test the samples," she told Radio Mozambique.

Mourners who drank the beer in the morning reported no illness, while those who drank the beer in the afternoon, fell ill, authorities said. They believe the beer must have been poisoned while funeral goers were at the cemetery.

The woman who brewed the beer is also among the dead.

Police are investigating the incident.

Health authorities have begun collecting food parcels and other items for donation to the affected families.
