LeBron the Next Warren Buffett

By Eurweb | Tuesday, September 16, 2014

*Billionaire Warren Buffett is currently worth $64 billion.
His protege is following in his footsteps. And that protege is no other than LeBron James.
Buffett is obviously quite the businessman — making his fortune buying companies that found much success years after he took stakes in them.
Buffett was worth hundreds of millions in his 20s. James is currently 29 years old, and he’s worth hundreds of millions. Hint hint.
The two have hit it off. James and Buffett have been seen hanging out together on multiple occasions. They’ve dined together in Las Vegas and golfed together in Sun Valley as well.
Buffett really has taken James under his wing. Reportedly, James sends Buffett his financial statements.
“I’m a kid from Akron who lived in poverty for a long time, and I sometimes send financial statements to one of the richest guys ever. It’s kind of scary. I’m like, ‘Why is he talking to me?’”
But the love is not one-sided. Buffett doesn’t mind advising James and even praised him. He said he is “remarkably mature,” being “plenty smart about financial matters,” and saying “I was impressed with him right from the moment I met him.”
He continued with, “LeBron’s not really talkative, he’s savvy,” continuing with, “he talked smarter about business deals than plenty of MBAs I’ve met … when I talked with him first, he was 21 then… He knew a lot more than I did when I was 21.”
Magic Johnson aside, could James be basketball’s first billionaire? Well, he definitely has one of the world’s wealthiest men on his side.
“In the next 15 or 20 years, I hope I’ll be the richest man in the world.” LeBron continued with, “That’s one of my goals. I want to be a billionaire.”
